Sports Council Awards 2014 – Results

Aberdeen Sports Council held its Annual Sports Personality Awards Dinner at Curl Aberdeen recently at which there was a large appreciative audience, including the Lord Provost and Bob Ellis new Chairman of the Scottish Association of Local Sports Councils.

A large number of Nominations had been submitted from A.S.C. Member Clubs and the Awards Sub Committee had the difficult task of reducing the list to a Short Leet, from which the eventual Category Winners were selected.
A.S.C. Secretary – Katie Barnett – the Awards Sub Committee Convenor stated –

“It has become more difficult every year, to choose Winners for our various Categories because Aberdeen and the Northeast are producing a number of great Athletes…which has been assisted with excellent Coaching and the availability of the new Sports Facilities, in and around the City. Aberdeen Sports Council are proud to recognise the achievements of all these Athletes and are delighted to present these Annual Awards.”

Aberdeen Sports Council, Scotland’s only voluntary Sports Council, shall be celebrating its 30th Anniversary in 2015. and already, plans are being made to celebrate Local Sport. Any Local Sports Club who also celebrate a major Anniversary, should get in touch with us.
