Aberdeen Sporting Hall of Fame

Aberdeen Sporting Hall of Fame

Aberdeen Sports Council is Scotland’s only voluntary Sports Council and to celebrate their 21st Anniversary four years ago, they created the - Aberdeen Sporting Hall of Fame – torecognise the achievements of Aberdonian Sportsmen and Sportswomen who have excelled in their various Sports.  Supported by – The Press and Journal – 21 Athletes representing 14 Sports were inducted, having been proposed by the Newspaper’s Readers and chosen by a Selection Panel.

Two years ago, a Special Award was made to the Gothenburg Dons, to celebrate their 25th Anniversary winning the European Cup Winners’ Cup.

Details of the first two intakes, can be found below…..

Now, in their 25th year, the Aberdeen Sports Council have just completed the third intake, with a Selection Panel selecting Athletes, again nominated by Members of the Public, who have served the City of Aberdeen through Sport….but did not have the good fortune to be born in the City.   A Presentation will take place later in the year in the Town House at a Civic Reception hosted by the City Council.     Congratulations to the following Inductees to the - Aberdeen Sporting Hall of Fame
